Avowed transports players into a rich and fascinating universe, with absolutely captivating game mechanics. However, a shadow hangs over this immersive experience: the repetitive comments of my companions after each battle. Although I appreciate their presence, I yearn for moments of gentleness, without these redundant exclamations which take away a little of the magic of each fight. Why not just enjoy the silence?

IN BRIEF
|
In the immersive world of Avowed, the gaming experience is remarkable. However, one element makes hairs stand on end: the incessant comments from companions. Although the game is a pure delight, this repetition of lines sometimes diminishes the charm of the adventure. Let’s dive into this duality between the genius of the game and the urgent need for silence.
An immersive and captivating adventure
Avowed delivers a content-rich RPG experience. The detailed landscape of Living Lands invites exploration. Every corner is a call to adventure, and both quests that the interactions with the characters are perfectly done. The developers have done an incredible job of making each fight have its own weight and importance. Navigating this world is both a challenge and pure pleasure.
As we navigate through thrilling battles, we can explore intriguing stories. Additionally, the interactions between the characters are often hilarious. However, certain phrases repeated by the companions risk disturbing this immersion. Indeed, always hearing the same lines after each meeting can become annoying. Players sometimes just want to savor the moment without being reminded of what just happened.
Companions: an inconvenience in the adventure
All RPGs experience this phenomenon where companions share their thoughts after a fight. In Avowed, this phenomenon is accentuated by the fact that comments are often looped. It seems that they only have one or two sentences of encouragement, unsuitable for the context. Why, then, can’t they express more varied, more relevant thoughts?
Every encounter with an enemy, whether they are skeletons, of the thieves or other creatures, triggers a comment, often repeated. The character Kai, for example, exclaims: “Another glorious battle!” How relevant can this phrase be after a chaotic fight? Every time his enthusiasm arises, we want to respond with a shrug.
- Using new and varied phrases would improve the experience.
- A balance between interaction and silence would be ideal.
- The battles deserve recognition, not systematic apologia.
Indeed, each victory is unique, but the way in which it is celebrated seems limited. If we could have a range of reactions, the immersion would only be reinforced.
A solution to this inconvenience
Thinking of this incessant repetitiveness, a question arises: what can be done to remedy this problem? First of all, developers could integrate a phrase bank wider for each companion. With a variety of 20-30 different answers per character, the game could really change. Comments could also be tailored to the situation, making them respond in a more contextual way.
Also, why not consider optional silence options? Sometimes the best response is no comment. A simple silence after a battle could give importance to our actions. Instead of being bombarded with similar phrases, players might enjoy the peace which follows a struggle. This would not mean removing dialogues, but simply giving the choice to reduce their frequency. What a relief that would be!
Avowed deserves better
Avowed is a splendid game, but it is essential that the developers take these little frustrations into account. Why spoil the atmosphere of such a meticulously constructed world with dialogue that sometimes seems off and repetitive? Players deserve to experience every moment authentically.
Propose a balance in interactions while allowing time for silence could definitely improve the overall experience. If each fight remains engraved in the player’s memory, its celebration should also be worthy of the accomplished feat. Let’s imagine a game where our fellow travelers are wiser in the choice of their words, making each victory a moment to savor.
A Welcome Silence in Avowed
Avowed, this captivating game created by Obsidian, offers an immersive experience full of thrilling adventures. The vast world of Living Lands and the intriguing plots make this opus a must-have for RPG fans. However, one element tarnishes this experience: the repetitive lines of my companions at the end of the fighting. Why do these dynamic characters suddenly seem to become monotonous after each encounter?
Every time I win a battle, through epic fights or battles against ridiculous monsters, I feel like I’m living a memorable moment. But the joy of victory is often spoiled by the intertwining of worn-out phrases that my acolytes exchange. Instead of adding to the immersion, these comments create a break in the pace of the game and immerse me in a mundanity that I had not anticipated.
I would really like the dialogues to be enriched, that each companion could react differently, as if they could adapt to the situation. Imagine varied exchanges, friendly teasing, or even questioning the morality of our actions after each victory. The possibility of more nuanced dialogue could bring additional depth to their characters.
In short, although Avowed is a true masterpiece, the addition of more diverse dialogues after the battles would transcend this already remarkable experience. A little silence or more appropriate comments could make all the difference, thus improving engagement and immersion in this fantastic universe.
